I hope everyone is have a great holiday season! As I finish out the last of my holiday recipes this year, I am moving away from desserts and back into savory — honestly, where I feel most comfortable. More sweet treats next year ha!
Are you looking for a last minute appetizer to add to your final end of year gatherings or New Years Eve party that is painless and delicious? Look no further than this last minute crowd-pleasing save: Baked Brie!
Also, have you noticed I love baked cheese? What can I say… it’s an absolute must have for any kind of appetizer spread.
I’ve mostly been on a feta kick but my niece is obsessed with brie so I thought it would be special to whip out the brie baking tin and make something extra gooey and decadent for the holidays. And yes, you heard that right, I have a brie baking tin. You’d be shocked out how many kitchen items I have already accumulated in my early 30s but let me tell you, despite how little I whip this one particular item out, it is really fun to have in times like these! Do not fret if you don’t have one, I assume most don’t. You can easily use any ceramic baking dish as long as it has a lid. You need that to evenly bake the brie.

The hot tip with this one is to score the brie. Using a sharp knife, cut the top in a criss cross pattern (think a Tic Tac Toe board), cutting about halfway through the cheese. This will make that much easier to cut into and eat once served, as well as cook the cheese more evenly.

If you are afraid of the garlic, simply omit. We all know what it’s like when that one person at the party goes too hard on the garlic! You can also use regular honey rather than hot, but I’d suggest adding a dash of red chili pepper flakes if you do that. The slight kick makes the dish that much more decadent… and I mean cmon, you are indulging in baked brie!
